year through the Red Bucket Food Drive we are compiling 70 meal boxes to donate to the Westside Food Bank to help those less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day. The food drive is an opportunity for our Westwood Charter family to reach out to the greater community and provides a tangible way for our kids to learn that helping others is an important part of life. It also enables us to earn "school cents" points at the Westside Pavilion for our school.
In order to create the meals, each classroom will be responsible for collecting a certain number of food items. Each class will begin collecting items on Monday, November 1. On either Wednesday, November 16 or Thursday, November 17 each class will bring the items to a staging area at a designated date and time where we will organize the items into complete meals. On Friday, November 18 we will transport the meal boxes to the Westside Pavilion.

All food should be boxed or canned PLEASE, NO GLASS! This request is very important. If you have any difficulty finding non-breakable containers for any item, let us know!
Preferred sizes of items: (thanks for your generosity, but bigger is not always better as we have trouble fitting all the items in the boxes)
