Below are four ways you can earn money for Westwood Charter while you shop.
1. Buy “Scrip”— or Gift Cards—From Us To Do Your Everyday Shopping
“Scrip” is just a fancy name for gift cards to many places where you shop every day--places like Peets, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Borders, Gap, CVS, Staples, and more. If you buy the gift cards from us before you shop, the school will make money from your purchase: anywhere from 2 to 25%. We buy the cards at a discount and then sell them to you for face value. The cards also make excellent gifts for birthdays, the holidays, and the end of the school year. For a complete list of the retailers and restaurants we sell cards for, click here. Reminders:
● Scrip in the form of gift cards is sold every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday morning from about 8:00-8:30 in front of the main building next to the “Scrip Sold Here” sign.
● We prefer cash or check, but will take credit cards for orders over $300.
● Scrip is a final purchase. No returns or exchanges.
2. Register Your Ralphs Rewards Card Online
Ralphs has a “Community Contributions” program that donates part of your purchase to Westwood Charter. First, you need to register your Ralphs rewards card online and then enroll in the program, choosing Westwood WISE as the beneficiary. For detailed instructions on signing up with Ralphs, click here. Please register again even if you signed up last year – Ralphs won’t renew automatically for us. Thanks!
3. Register Your Vons, Pavilions, Safeway or Macy’s Card Online
“Escrip” is an electronic scrip program. Vons, Pavilions, Macy’s and VISA or Master Cards can be registered with www.escrip.com. The ID number for Westwood is 136559363. Once you register online, a portion of purchases you make with your card(s) will be donated to Westwood.
4. Register Your Target Credit Card
Register your Target credit card with www.target.com/tcoe. A portion of your purchases will be donated to Westwood. The ID number for Westwood is 32979.

1. What is SCRIP?
SCRIP consists of gift cards and gift certificates available from many popular stores, restaurants and retail establishments nationwide. Many of the places you shop at frequently accept SCRIP. To see a current list of available scrip, please click on this link to our BESTSELLERS LIST. This list is updated from time to time.
2. Why should I buy SCRIP?
This is a fundraising effort that everyone can participate in and it doesn't cost YOU anything extra. Why? If you buy $100 worth of SCRIP from Westwood W.I.S.E., you get to spend that exact same $100 at the store, restaurant, or retail establishment. Your additional cost of buying and using SCRIP is zero. At the same time, Westwood W.I.S.E. makes money for our school!
3. “How does SCRIP make money for the school?”
Westwood Charter W.I.S.E. buys scrip at less than face value from a scrip wholesaler and directly from some grocery stores. W.I.S.E. profits by selling this SCRIP to the community at FULL face value. Our school makes money on the difference between what we pay for SCRIP and what we sell it for.
4. “How much of my purchase price goes to the school?”
Westwood Charter makes a 3% to 5% profit ($3-$5 profit for every $100) from grocery store SCRIP. Other merchants offer their SCRIP at profit rates that vary from as little as 2% of the purchase price to as much as 23%. The profit percentage for each vendor can be found on our BESTSELLERS LIST.
5. “Where and when can I buy SCRIP?”
Parent volunteers from Westwood W.I.S.E. sell SCRIP in front of the school near the “Scrip Sold Here” sign. Check with the main office for days and times.
6. Do you accept credit cards as payment for SCRIP?
We prefer payment by cash or check, but will accept VISA or MasterCard for purchases over $300 and from vendors that offer us a profit of 3% or more. Check our BESTSELLERS LIST for the profit we get from each vendor. ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL – no refunds or exchanges.
7. Can I use scrip cards to shop on-line?
Generally, yes. Just check with the vendor or on the scrip card to make sure.
