We need to Re:Fresh our spirits by spending some quality time together at the March 13 Benefit Party, held at The Mark for Events.
We need to Re:Fresh our school’s coffers by raising a lot of money at the Spring Auction. We need to Re:Fresh our school community by coming together to help our school, so that Westwood Charter can continue to offer the Physical Education, Music, Drama, and Art programs, teacher assistants in every classroom, literacy and math specialists, and the many other programs paid for with the proceeds of this Auction, as these funds to not come from the State or from LAUSD.
Here’s How it Works
On March 13, 2010, we will have our annual live auction and party. This year’s event will be held at The Mark for Events, 9320 West Pico Blvd and will be a casual chic event with a tasty menu and open bar. The evening includes a DJ, dancing, raffles and valet parking. Ticket information will soon be available, so please check your email and your child’s homework folders for details.
We will also be conducting an online auction. The auction will open March 1, 2010. You can access the online auction at www.biddingforgood.com/westwoodcharter.
Here’s What We Need From You!
Solicit the people and businesses you know, and the places you shop for auction items. Even in these tougher economic times, businesses remain willing to contribute to the children in their community. Our online auction will feature a photo and a link to the donor’s website, and is a great advertising tool. For information about soliciting, or to find out how to get donated items into the auction, contact the Auction committee at WWCAuction@yahoo.com. Solicitation and donations forms are available through the Westwood Charter website, or in the front office.
Host a Party! Choose a theme and organize a party, and tell us how many people you wish to invite. We will sell invitations to your party as part of our on line Auction. Please contact Kim Levin at kimlevin@me.com for additional information.
Buy raffle tickets (they will soon be available for sale in front of the school, and at the Re:Fresh Dinner and Live Auction.
Buy tickets to the Benefit Party, and then join us for a great evening of good food and drinks, a DJ, an exciting raffle, and a lively live auction.
A Few Other Things to Know
In the past, we have asked that everyone contribute items for a class basket, which then becomes part of the auction. This year we will not be creating class baskets. Instead, please consider using any money you would have spent on the purchase of an item for the basket to buy extra raffle tickets, and please consider using the time you would have spent running around town to buy the item by instead soliciting one more item for our online auction.
HOST-A-PARTY FOR THE AUCTION
Hosting a party is a great way to make a significant contribution to the school, meet other parents in the school community and have a great time while doing so!
Here’s how it works:
1. You pick the type of party you would like to host. We have a bunch of suggestions below, but feel free to come up with your own ideas too
2. Fill out a HOST A PARTY SIGN UP SHEET and place it in the Fundraiser envelope in the school office
3. Please be sure to include all details about your party on the form– number of attendees, date of the party, cost per attendee and other co-hosts if you desire
4. The party will become an item for the silent auction that people can sign-up for on a first-come, first-serve basis
5. Feel good about helping the school raise a lot of money
